Ingredients

  • 454g - (1 package) Fontaine Family ground veal
  • 2.5 ml (½ tsp) salt
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) black pepper
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) garlic powder
  • 4 Tortillas (10 inch)
  • 500 ml (2 cups) shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Half onion roughly chopped
  • Cooking oil as required

Sauce

  • 125 ml (½ cup) mayonnaise
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) ketchup
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) mustard
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) minced pickles
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) minced onion

Preparation

  1. In a pan, add oil and half onion. Cook until they are translucent then add in the ground veal.
  2. Brown ground veal on high until no longer pink. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Transfer it to a bowl. Keep pan aside.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, stir together all the ingredients for the sauce.
  4. In the same pan you cooked the veal, add in 1 tortilla. Spread the sauce on one half of the tortilla. Top it with the prepared ground veal, chopped pickled and cheddar cheese.
  5. Fold the tortilla in half. Cook on medium heat until the bottom of the Quesadilla is golden brown (2-3 minutes). Flip and cook until the opposite side is also golden brown and the cheese is melted. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
