A delicious alternative to the traditional pork or beef meatballs. This recipe with its Middle Eastern flavours will have you coming back for more!

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of Fontaine Family lean ground lamb (375g)
  • 2 small onions finely chopped
  • 1 crushed garlic clove
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) cumin
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) cinnamon
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) ground pepper
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) semolina (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 sprigs of fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tbsp (30 ml) canola oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix all ingredients except the oil. Place in the refrigerator and let stand for 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare meatballs by hand
  3. In a skillet, heat the oil.
  4. Cook meatballs about 15 minutes or until cooked. Meatballs are ready when the internal temperature reaches 160°F(71°C).

Side dishes

Serve in a pita bread with a yogurt and mint sauce with diced cucumbers, tomatoes and red peppers to make a tasty wrap.

Tips and Tricks

Tips and tricks: brown meatballs in a skillet and bake them in the oven at 180 ° C (350 ° F) for about 10 minutes or until they are cooked. Meatballs are ready when the internal temperature reaches 160°F(71°C).
