Thai coconut curry veal

Not much is as soulfully satisfying as this Thai coconut veal curry recipe after a chilly fall day! ?? This is THE ultimate comfort meal from @feeedmi.



  • 454 g (1 lb) of Fontaine Family veal stewing cubes
  • oil, enough for heating
  • 4 garlic cloves, diced
  • 2.5 cm (1 inch) fresh ginger, finely diced
  • 2 green Thai chilies
  • 5 ml (1 tsp.) chili flakes
  • 1/2 red onion, diced
  • 1/2 bell peppers, (mix of green and red), sliced thinly lengthwise
  • 15 ml (1 Tbsp.) soy sauce
  • 5 ml (1 tsp.) brown sugar
  • 5 ml (1 tsp.) rice vinegar
  • 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp.) fish sauce
  • 250 ml (1 cup) water
  • 250 ml (1 cup) coconut milk
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro to garnish


  1. In a pan heat up some oil and add in diced garlic, diced ginger, Thai green chilies (optional) and chili flakes.
  2. Once the garlic starts to brown add in diced red onion and sauté for about 2 minutes.
  3. Add veal cubes and sauté for about 5-10 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Add in the bell peppers, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and fish sauce .
  5. Add in water and bring to a boil.
  6. Add in coconut milk, lower heat, cover and simmer for another 15-20 minutes.
  7. Add salt to taste and garnish with fresh chopped cilantro prior to serving over a bed of white rice.
